Why does our skin wrinkle as we age?

Do you know what one of the most asked questions is? Why does our skin wrinkle as we age? In recent research it is known that as we age our skin loses elasticity. Elastin is what controls our skins elasticity or its stretchiness. In our skin there are collagen fibers, elastin fibers which are like proteins in our skin. When we get older those collagen fibers and elastin fibers either get damage or die out so our skin loses its elasticity. In conclusion as we get older we start to lose certain fibers which our skin depends on, so our skin loses its stretchiness.
